Individual Counseling

In any given moment we have two options: to step forward into growth or step back into safety.

– Abraham Maslow

What Brings You Here

Adults often come to a therapist because they seek relief from anxiety and depression, greater fulfillment in relationships, clarity and purpose in work, and increased confidence and self-esteem.

What to Expect from Our Sessions

My work with you will be based in deep listening, attention to the present moment, and a dynamic, body-centered approach to releasing stuck or painful places that have kept you from experiencing your fullest potential. We’ll identify the issues or beliefs that may be holding you back, and then build on your strengths, inner wisdom and experience so that you can name, express, and move toward your deepest longings and true self.

Being Supported in Your Growth

I work well with people with strong intellectual and technical capacities who would like to gain greater access to their feelings and create more open and successful relationships. In therapy, the relationship we create becomes the foundation for healing and awareness allowing you to grow.

The Guest House

This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.
A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
As an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they’re a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.
The dark thought, the shame, the malice,
meet them at the door laughing and invite them in.
Be grateful for whoever comes,
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.

Taught me ways to cope with anxiety and depression…

“I’ve been working with Jane for almost 10 years. She takes great care in listening to the stories and emotions of my life. She holds a sacred space for me to make my own meaning out of my experiences. Jane’s therapeutic approach has taught me ways to cope with anxiety and depression and when to know how to seek psychiatric assistance as well. She is open and supportive and my sessions with her have helped me create self awareness that pushes me towards personal growth. After all this time, Jane feels like a therapist and a mentor.”
